We also use software that wipes the computer clean on a reboot, so if anyone has put passwords into email or bank accounts the computer can't remember it. I think this is also essential for community computers. the software we use is called 'Deepfreeze'

disgraceful! BT should come clean and stop saying that people are within reach of an exchange when we have proved many times that they aren't, and millions are without a connection and many more have very substandard connections. Victorian copper cannot deliver next gen access. We need fibre to the home. of everyone in digitalbritain. Well done for Anne for AGAIN raising the issue. Maybe one day gov and rda's will realise BT are telling porkies and sweating their assets instead of re-investing.

The USO of 2 meg for every home in 2012 is pathetic. It isn't good enough for innovation and growth now, let alone in another four years time. If Gordon Brown says 'everyone must invest in digital future' then let him make a start by making BT replace the obsolete copper infrastructure with fibre. Its cheap, easy and available. The tradesmen currently drawing dole could draw fibre through ducts and build a next generation network to bring pride and glory back to UKplc.
Everyone needs to be aware that if we don't do this we are soon gonna be out of the race big time.

Dear Sir/Madam,

My name Is Paul Hewlett and I work for First Light Movies. Thank you for publishing information on your site about our Studio Award Scheme. It's great to know that there are people out there spreading the word.

Could I ask that you correct a slight inaccuracy? First Light Movies distributes Lottery money which it receives from the UK Film Council, not the Big Lottery.

Thanks again for featuring information about us on your site, we're very keen to receive more applications from Yorkshire and the Humber and this type of exposure really helps.

Many thanks, Paul.

Hull has long been blighted by lack of health competition and Kcom (the only broadband operator in Hull) have been able to inflate the prices, offer packaged that nobody wants and keep other companies from entering Hull by not offering LLU services and not prublishing the prices. It's time Hull residence made a stand and got another fixed line provider in Hull.

Come back and have a bit of fun with the rest of us, and if you do, please add me: http://twitter.com/DMFoto

I think the donations where you actually get something in return are, although not quite charity, the most effective ways for charities to raise money. for example, you can buy a charity single by Dec from Ant and Dec for not much, but most of it goes to charity. You get something for your money, and the charities get a little bit of cash too.. Have a look: http://www.mirror.co.uk/dec/

Don't worry. I took a while to see the value of Twitter. Staring at www.twitter.com really doesn't show its potential.

But I believe it can be a valuable tool for UK charities, and is certainly worth spending some time investigating. I've covered developments in how Twitter is being used as a fundraising tool at

http://www.fundraising.co.uk/taxonomy/term/2513

since last year.

And (commercial advert here), I've just announced what I believe is the UK's first training course for charities/vol orgs on using Twitter as a fundraising tool:

http://fundraisingwithtwitter.eventbrite.com

It's early days, and you might not want to go to a Twestival itself, but Twitter is a valuable tool for some charities keen to engage with a wider public.

As for any Skype add on and Skype extra Yugma is the one to use for your business. Yugma has so much more then just whiteboard to offer your business. So, if you are a Skype user and are looking for a web conferencing solution try Yugma.
