I had a great experience this weekend. I was on the computer making up a chart with my partner’s children on it. The 9 year old boy was helping me in the way that 9 year olds do. We were adding his name to the chart when he just took over the keyboard and created this wonderful graphic.
Now I have been working in Microsoft Office for many years. I run courses on it for Electroville and help people to get the most out of Office 2007 when they move over to it, yet here was a 9 year old teaching me stuff that I had no idea could be done. It was truly wonderful and I loved it. I don’t mean that I loved the graphic, though I did, I mean I loved that I was open enough to allow this learning to happen from a young boy. Though I hasten to add that I have learnt so much about so many aspects of life from him, his sister and all of my children (just in case any of them are reading).
What can I say? So much for being an ICT Champion!
