Well after much deliberation I’ve finally got me head around blogs. You never know – the next thing I’ll be doing is putting in a google map. You know – despite my many years in computing (27 and counting), I keep getting surprised by the power of new stuff. Like Flickr for example – from which I’ve used Paul Indigo’s photo of a Yorkshire flood for the splash – literally!
I’ve been appointed the Regional ICT Champion for the Voluntary and Community Sector in Y&H. So how can I help your organisation?
- By working with the regional and local networks in delivering workshops and other ICT awareness raising initiatives to voluntary sector organisations.
- By identifying existing service providers and then by co-ordination sharing best practice to help these become more sustainable. Where there is a limited coverage, offering advice and resources on how new services could be set up and gaps filled.
- By being a champion for ICT through development work with local support organisations, helping you as a front-line voluntary and community groups to understand and be signposted to the practical ICT resources available in the region or nationally.
The aim is that through a better co-ordinated and resources network of ICT providers supplying relevant and affordable local support, advice and guidance services and through awareness raising workshops to champion the strategic importance of well planned ICT, it will be easier for you to deliver quality services to your clients more effectively.
